These guidelines are intended to assist authors in preparing manuscripts for submission to Coastal and Ocean Journal. Authors should ensure that manuscripts are written clearly, follow the journal template, and comply with ethical standards for scientific publication.

General Requirements

The manuscript should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal. The manuscript must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia using clear and concise academic language. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript is free from plagiarism and has been prepared according to the journal format.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally consist of title, author names and affiliations, abstract, keywords, introduction, methods, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgements when applicable, and references. The structure may be adjusted depending on the type of manuscript submitted.

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the main content of the manuscript. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and overly broad statements.

Author Names and Affiliations

Author names should be written clearly without academic titles. The affiliation of each author should include institution, city, and country. The corresponding author should be indicated clearly along with an active email address.

Abstract

The abstract should summarize the background, objective, methods, main results, and conclusion of the study. It should be written as a single paragraph and should not include citations, tables, or figures.

Keywords

Authors should provide several keywords that represent the main topic of the manuscript. Keywords should help indexing and searching of the article.

Introduction

The introduction should present the background of the study, relevant literature, research gap, and the objective of the manuscript. The rationale of the study should be clearly described.

Materials and Methods

This section should explain the study location, materials, data collection, analytical methods, and procedures used in the research. The methods should be described in enough detail to allow replication by other researchers.

Results and Discussion

Results should be presented clearly using text, tables, and figures where appropriate. Discussion should interpret the findings, compare them with previous studies, and explain their significance in relation to coastal and ocean science or management.

Conclusion

The conclusion should answer the research objective and summarize the most important findings. It should not simply repeat the results but should highlight the contribution of the study.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and cited in the text. Each table and figure should have a clear title or caption. Authors must ensure that all visual materials are readable and relevant to the manuscript.

References

References should include only sources cited in the manuscript. Authors should ensure that all references are accurate, complete, and formatted consistently according to the journal style.

Submission Process

Authors should submit manuscripts through the journal online submission system. The manuscript will first be checked by the editorial office for completeness and compliance with the author guidelines. Manuscripts that meet the basic requirements will proceed to editorial review and peer review.

Review Process

Submitted manuscripts are reviewed by the editorial board and peer reviewers. The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection is made by the editor based on reviewer recommendations and journal standards.
